Drishyam 3 Races Past Rs 340 Crore as Ajay Devgn Keeps Door Open
Drishyam 3 has crossed Rs 340 crore worldwide in five days, and Ajay Devgn says the story is a conclusion only 'right now.'

Abhishek Pathak’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has crossed Rs 340 crore at the worldwide box office, only five days after its October 2 release. The Hindi crime thriller has also collected Rs 217 crore from Indian theatres alone, cementing Vijay Salgaonkar’s hold on audiences.
So is Drishyam 4 actually happening?
Ajay Devgn is careful with the word “conclusion.” Speaking to Gulf News, he said, “At the moment, it is a conclusion,” then added, “I can’t predict it.” The actor did not rule out another film, repeating that the decision right now is that this is the end. It is the kind of answer that keeps a franchise door open without making a promise.
The context matters. The Malayalam version, starring Mohanlal, did not receive the strong response the franchise is known for, and writer-director Jeethu Joseph is said to be working on a fourth part. If that project moves ahead, the Hindi team could choose to follow or once again chart its own path.
Why the Hindi film used a different script
The Hindi and Malayalam teams did not work in isolation. Ajay Devgn revealed that both sides were toying with a third film, exchanged scripts, and then decided which version suited which audience.
Devgn recalled that the Hindi writers—Abhishek Pathak, Aamii Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh—shared their script with Joseph’s Malayalam team. Ultimately, each side backed its own story. The Hindi team believed its script was stronger for its audience, and the box-office result is a vindication of that confidence.
What the numbers tell us
- Rs 340 crore: worldwide gross in five days.
- Rs 217 crore: domestic collection in the same period.
- October 2, 2026: theatrical release date.
For a Hindi film marketed as a conclusion, those figures are an argument for more. The cast includes Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Kamlesh Sawant, giving the franchise enough star power and character history to return.
The real question for fans is not whether Vijay Salgaonkar has another plan—he always does—but whether the makers will let him execute it. Right now, the official line is the conclusion. Like any good thriller, the twist may already be hidden in plain sight.
