King’s First Song Arrives on Shah Rukh Khan’s 61st

The first song from Shah Rukh Khan's King is planned for November 2, his 61st birthday, with Arijit Singh on vocals and Sachin-Jigar scoring.

King's first song arrives on SRK's 61st birthday

For Shah Rukh Khan fans, November 2 now has two reasons to celebrate. The star turns 61, and the first song from his action thriller King is expected to arrive the same day, ahead of the film’s trailer.

The move makes the birthday a listening event rather than a look at the film, giving the campaign a musical first impression. Variety India reported that the song will be the next major promotional asset, with the official trailer coming at a later stage.

An Arijit song, finally ready

The lead voice belongs to Arijit Singh. Shah Rukh Khan had already let fans in on the plan during an X interaction in September, when someone asked for a song from King. “Arijit Dada is a perfectionist,” he said, explaining that the team was waiting for the singer to finish the final touches.

That detail matters to listeners: an Arijit Singh track, especially for an SRK film, is often an event in its own right. The birthday launch gives fans the first full taste of the film’s musical identity before pictures, a teaser or a trailer arrive.

A quiet change in the music team

Behind the scenes, there has been a shift. Composer Anirudh Ravichander has reportedly stepped away from King because of his packed schedule, though the parting is said to be amicable. He is still expected to leave a mark: Bollywood Hungama reports he gave Shah Rukh Khan the film’s theme track as a mark of respect for the star.

Sachin-Jigar are now expected to reimagine that theme for the background score and handle the album as well. In effect, the film keeps an Anirudh signature in its central melody while the duo shapes the rest of the sound.

  • First song: planned for November 2, Shah Rukh Khan’s 61st birthday
  • Lead vocalist: Arijit Singh, as confirmed by SRK
  • Score and album: Sachin-Jigar, after Anirudh’s reported exit
  • Anirudh’s legacy: the theme track stays and will be reimagined
  • Trailer: expected later, after the song’s release

Why the birthday drop matters

King reunites Shah Rukh Khan with director Siddharth Anand after Pathaan, and the ensemble includes Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. With that kind of scale, the promotional order is deliberate: a song can travel fast on reels and playlists before the trailer asks audiences to commit to the story.

For fans, the immediate task is simple. Mark November 2, treat the track as the first clue to King‘s tone, and don’t expect the trailer on the same day — the campaign is being built one drop at a time.
