Raghav Juyal’s Meghnad Cameo Is a 2028 Sequel Promise

Raghav Juyal's brief appearance as Meghnad in Ramayana: Rise of a Legend has fans talking, and it hints at a much larger part in the 2028 sequel.

Raghav Juyal's Meghnad cameo is a sequel-sized tease

Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is in cinemas, and its biggest names—Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana—are drawing most of the attention. But a much smaller appearance is cutting through the noise: Raghav Juyal turns up briefly as Meghnad, and the moment is doing heavy lifting for the sequel.

In a two-part epic, the smallest introductions can carry the longest arcs. A character who gets only a few seconds now may be the one audiences are talking about when the next chapter arrives. Juyal’s connection to the epic had been known for some time, but his actual entry still caught many by surprise.

A cameo with epic weight

Juyal’s screen time is short, but the role is not a throwaway. Meghnad, also called Indrajit, is the crown prince of Lanka and Ravana’s eldest son. In the epic, he is counted among the mightiest warriors and has a central part in the war between Rama and Ravana.

The first film uses the sequence to establish him rather than give him a full arc. That choice works like a contract with the audience: plant the character now, pay it off later.

Why fans are already reacting

A clip of the appearance is circulating on social media. One fan wrote, “Ek dum perfect for meghnath role…raghav juyal,” while another added that the actor “is gonna kill it again.” The excitement is less about how much Juyal does in this film than about what the moment signals.

  • The character: Meghnad/Indrajit, Ravana’s eldest son and a key warrior.
  • The Part 1 role: A brief introduction, not a full story.
  • The payoff: A much bigger presence expected in the sequel, due in 2028.

The bigger Ramayana plan

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is the opening chapter of a large-scale retelling. It pairs big visuals with music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, while setting up the battle between good and evil. Sunny Deol’s post-credit reveal as Lord Hanuman has already become a talking point, and Juyal’s Meghnad is another piece of that long-game setup.

The introduction matters because Meghnad is expected to be far more visible in the second part, where the clash between Rama’s and Ravana’s armies moves to the centre. For a franchise asking audiences to commit across years, these early character beats are the connective tissue.

For fans: don’t blink

If you are heading to the theatre, watch the smaller introductions as closely as the leads. Stay for the post-credit scene, and keep an eye on how Part 1 positions characters for what comes next. A cameo in a two-part film is rarely just a cameo.

That is especially true for Meghnad. The first film gives him a doorway; the 2028 sequel is expected to give him a battlefield.
