Vijay Deverakonda Hits Back at KWK Trolls With Blunt F-Word

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna hit back after Koffee With Karan 9 sparked 'red flag' trolling. Vijay had a blunt message for critics.

Vijay and Rashmika shut down the KWK trolls together

Vijay Deverakonda is done with the noise around his marriage. After his Koffee With Karan 9 appearance with Rashmika Mandanna, the actor posted a note that mixed adoration for his wife with a hard message for critics: keep your opinions to yourselves. He ended it by writing that “everyone else can go f*** themselves (sic).”

How a KWK anecdote became a talking point

The drama began on the second episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9. Rashmika recounted a moment at an airport where she said “let’s get married,” and Vijay’s response was “Okay, you ask me 100 times.” When Karan Johar asked if she really asked that many times, she said she had asked for an entire year.

Vijay framed the exchange as caution, not rejection. He said his past interviews treated love with “disrespect and disbelief,” and that he was too caught up in career ambition to see what was in front of him. He eventually proposed during their sangeet, after originally planning to do it in Italy in December ahead of the February wedding.

Many viewers were not convinced. Within hours, social media was full of reels calling Vijay a “red flag.” One clip-maker summed up the mood with the line: “At this point, Rashmika loves Vijay and Vijay also loves Vijay.”

Rashmika’s five-slide counter

Minutes before Vijay’s post, Rashmika shared her own note. She acknowledged the proposal conversation happened, but said neither of them was chasing a grand gesture. It was about taking time to understand each other, through the “highs and lows,” before deciding.

She was unapologetic about her feelings. “I am OBSESSED with my man,” she wrote, asking when being in love with the person you marry became a problem. She also drew a line: critics could say what they want about her, but dragging her family into it crossed into “bullying dressed up as feminism (sic).”

What this says about fandom in the KWK era

This isn’t just another celebrity clapback. Koffee With Karan has always turned private moments into public spectacle, but this season the audience is faster to assign labels like “red flag” from a single anecdote. The risk is that a long relationship gets reduced to one edited clip.

For fans, the couple’s message is fairly clear:

  • Vijay’s “ask me 100 times” was about certainty, not indifference — he proposed at the sangeet.
  • Rashmika says she would have asked 1,000 times if that’s what choosing him required.
  • Both asked that family stay out of the online pile-on.

Vijay described Rashmika as his “best friend, my wife, my woman” and one of the most beautiful parts of his life he got right. The couple married in Udaipur on February 26, 2026, with ceremonies honouring their Telugu and Kodava traditions. Whether or not that settles the internet is another matter — but the two are clearly presenting a united front.
